Hi, I’m Nancy. I am the owner of Owera Winds Bed and Breakfast, a charming and unique B&B in Cazenovia NY. I was toying with what to do in my early retirement from the corporate world and the most enticing was to open my home to paying guests. I had already been hosting family and friends for years, many saying I was born to host. My home had the charm, it is situated just outside of a quaint town, and I always leave my guests with the cozy, relaxed home away from home feeling. But could I capitalize on this and make it a sustainable business?

There was only one way to find out. Like the Nike commercial says “Just Do It”.

So I did.

With some hesitation I slowly tip-toed into it and opened my doors thinking, I won’t get anyone right away or it won’t last.

Well, I was wrong. I was immediately inundated with bookings. The word spread, and 146 plus 5-star ratings later, I am booked far into the future. One of the most gratifying things has been the many return guests, coming from all over the world. 

The success of Owera Winds B&B has been such that we can now offer custom experiences like wedding “first looks”, bachelorette weekends, girls get-away weekends, and romantic weekends for couples. Our unique grounds are the perfect setting!

How did this happen and how did it happen so quickly?
